DRILCO®

Tubular Inspection Services

The Next Generation of Digital Tubular Inspection

As drilling operations become increasingly data-driven, operators require more from inspection technologies than simply identifying defects. Today’s tubular integrity programs demand accurate inspection data, real-time visibility, and seamless integration with digital asset management systems that support informed decision-making throughout the asset lifecycle. To meet these evolving requirements, DRILCO® has introduced X-SPECT™, a fully digital electromagnetic inspection (EMI) platform that combines advanced inspection capabilities, wireless connectivity, and real-time diagnostics with integration into the Centrix™ asset intelligence platform. Together, these technologies enable operators to transform inspection data into actionable insights, improving asset visibility, operational efficiency, and lifecycle management across their tubular fleets.

Proprietary Field Refacing

DRILCO’s proprietary field refacing unit provides on-site restoration of sealing surfaces and shoulders on downhole tubulars. This includes all API connections as well as most of the licensed proprietary connections. By performing precision refacing at the rig site, customer yard, or operating location, DRILCO can quickly restore connection integrity without the need to transport assets to a repair facility. This mobile solution helps customers maximize equipment availability while maintaining the performance and reliability of critical drilling assets.

Full-Length Ultrasonic Inspection

Located in Broussard, Louisiana & Macaé, Brazil are facilities equipped with full-length ultrasonic inspection units designed to provide comprehensive evaluation of drill pipe and landing strings. These advanced systems utilize 20+ individual transducers for defect detection, performing thousands of wall thickness measurements and precise identification of internal and external flaws across the entire length of tubulars. This capability is especially critical for thicker wall drill pipe and landing strings, where conventional inspection methods may have limitations. By leveraging full-length ultrasonic technology, DRILCO enhances defect detection accuracy, improves integrity assurance, and provides greater confidence in high-load, high-pressure drilling applications.

High-Pressure Water Blasting

DRILCO operates specialized 20,000 PSI water blasting units at select locations to effectively clean drill pipe, tubing, Hevi-Wate® drill pipe, and bottom hole assembly (BHA) components. These high-pressure systems are specifically designed to remove drilling fluids, scale, corrosion, cement, and other contaminants, restoring equipment to a clean condition prior to inspection and repair. By ensuring critical surfaces and connection areas are thoroughly cleaned, our water blasting services help improve inspection accuracy, extend asset life, and support safe, reliable drilling operations.

Preservation Coatings

DRILCO provides professional application of both proprietary and non-proprietary internal and external preservation coatings for drill pipe, Hevi-Wate® drill pipe, tubing and other tubular products. These specialized coatings are designed to protect assets from corrosion, environmental exposure, and storage-related deterioration, helping to maintain product integrity throughout transportation, storage, and operational use. Utilizing controlled application processes and customer-approved specifications, DRILCO delivers reliable preservation solutions that extend asset life, reduce maintenance costs, and ensure tubulars are ready for service when needed.
