Types of Mills

Slot Mill

The Slot Mill is engineered to create the initial slot in the intercepted well casing. Its specialized cutting face is designed to engage the casing wall first, delivering greater stability and control while milling through metal to produce a clean, precise slot.

Elongation Mill

The Elongation Mill is used to extend the casing slot initially created by the Slot Mill. It features a similar cutting face design but with a longer gauge on the outer diameter (OD), dressed with crushed carbide for durability. Its coring-resistant face and spiral watercourses allow for efficient swarf and fluid evacuation during the milling operation.

Severance Mill

The Severance Mill is designed to sever the casing and mill a section in the same trip. This step is necessary before section milling an interval of the target casing with conventional tools.
